MCC, Medical Counselling Committee has announced the timetable for the NEET PG 2024 Special Stray Vacancy Round, providing one last chance for applicants to fill postgraduate medical seats for the 2024-25 academic year. The special round has been announced after reducing the cut-off percentile of NEET PG to the 5th percentile to fill the leftover vacant seats.
Eligibility Criteria for the Special Stray Vacancy Round
To join this round of NEET PG Counselling 2024, applicants must fulfil the below-given requirements:
- Not already holding or having taken a seat in any prior rounds of NEET PG counselling under All India Quota (AIQ), state quota, or deemed universities.
- Having obtained a percentile score of 5% and higher for all categories.
- It must be noted that those candidates who were assigned a seat through MCC in AIQ Round 3 and the earlier stray vacancy round but did not report are not entitled to this special round.
Important Dates and Process of NEET PG Counselling
The timing of the NEET PG Special Stray Vacancy Round is as follows:
- Registration and Payment: March 6, 2025, to March 8, 2025 (until 11:00 AM). The payment option will be open until 2:00 PM on March 8.
- Choice Filling and Locking: March 6, 2025, to March 10, 2025 (until 8:00 AM). Candidates have to fill and lock their choices during this time.
- Processing of Seat Allotment: March 10 and 11, 2025.
- Publication of Results: The result will be declared on March 12, 2025.
- Reporting to Allotted Colleges: The candidates have to report to the allotted college between March 13, 2025, and March 20, 2025 (until 5:00 PM).
Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates participating in this special round of NEET PG Counselling should note the following:
- Security Deposit: Every AIQ registered candidate, irrespective of category, will need to pay a refundable security deposit of ₹50,000 to join the special stray vacancy round of government seats. In the case of deemed universities, the refundable security deposit is ₹3,00,000.
- Forfeiture and Debarment: The candidates who fail to join the seats that are allotted to them in this round will lose their security deposit and will be debarred for one year from appearing in the NEET PG exam.
- Reporting: Candidates who are allotted seats are required to report to the institute that has been allotted to them with original documents within the given time.
- Data Sharing: The candidates who are being given seats in the AIQ special stray vacancy round will have their names shared with state counselling authorities, and such candidates will be excluded from the special stray vacancy round of the state counselling.
